For years, Bear was part of everyday life at Honda City. As our General Manager’s loyal companion, he came to work each day, greeted customers with a wagging tail, made friends wherever he went, and reminded us that kindness is often found in the smallest moments. He wasn’t just known around the dealership — he was part of the Honda City family.
Bear’s gentle personality inspired something bigger than all of us. Today, his legacy lives on through Bear’s Buddies, Honda City’s partnership with the Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs.

Helping Change Lives – One Puppy at a Time
Through Bear’s Buddies, a portion of the proceeds from vehicles sold and serviced at Honda City helps sponsor puppies as they begin their journey toward becoming highly trained guide dogs and service dogs.
Some of these remarkable dogs will one day provide independence and confidence to individuals who are blind or visually impaired through the Guide Dog Foundation. Others will become trusted companions for veterans and first responders with disabilities through America’s VetDogs, helping them navigate everyday life with greater safety, mobility, and independence.
Watching these puppies grow from playful puppies into highly trained guide dogs and service dogs reminds us why Bear’s Buddies matters.
About Our Partners
For generations, the Guide Dog Foundation has empowered people who are blind or visually impaired by providing expertly trained guide dogs at no cost to those who need them. Through exceptional breeding, training, and lifelong support, the organization helps recipients live with greater confidence and independence.
America’s VetDogs was founded to serve the men and women who have served our country. The organization trains and places service dogs with veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders living with disabilities, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
We’re honored to support two organizations whose missions reflect the values we believe in — service, compassion, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Meet the Next Generation
These adorable faces belong to Turbo, Jack, and Liberty with their mom, Pilot. Pilot was Bear’s second buddy and successfully completed her Guide Dog Foundation training before beginning her next important role – raising future guide dogs.
Today, she’s helping shape the next generation of service dogs, giving her puppies the best possible start as they prepare for their own journeys. Watching Bear’s legacy continue through Pilot and her litter is a reminder that every puppy has the potential to make a life-changing difference for someone in need.

Bear’s Legacy
If you’ve visited Honda City over the years, you’ve probably seen photos of Bear alongside many of the puppies we’ve had the privilege to sponsor. Those pictures tell the story of a program that continues to grow with the support of our customers and our community.
Although Bear has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, his legacy continues to inspire us every day. Every puppy sponsored through Bear’s Buddies carries that legacy forward, creating new opportunities, greater independence, and brighter futures for the people whose lives they will one day change.
